Questions & AnswersQ. “How long before the wedding should I book my car(s)?” A. As long in advance as possible; many brides book 12 to 18 months in advance. If you are already closer to the wedding day then give as a call - your date might still be available. Q. “Can I make a provisional booking for my car(s)?” A. Yes. Phone us - if the date is available, we will hold the car for up to 10 days whilst you confirm the Church and reception availability. Q. “What happens after I make a telephone booking?” A. Please complete and return a booking form and enclose your deposit. We will send you written confirmation of your booking complete with dates and times. Two weeks before the wedding, the balance is due - if not already paid - and we will confirm the arrangements including any of your special arrangements. Of course, you are welcome to contact us at any time to discuss your booking. Q. “How much deposit do you require?” A. We ask for a £50 deposit per car at the time of booking. The balance is payable 14 days before the wedding. Q. “Can the bride’s car also take the bridesmaids to the wedding on an earlier trip?” A. We are happy to do this provided that the distance to travel is short. For us to also take the bridesmaids, we have to allow plenty of time for their trip to the wedding, photographs and the car’s return journey to the house. Back at the house there may be further photographs before we then take the bride to the wedding to be in time for her photographs before the service. A long distance will result in bridesmaids having to wait a very long time at the wedding. In addition, the risk of delays in traffic is greatly increased by making additional journeys; above all, we want the bride to arrive in a calm relaxed manner and not have to rush this part of the wedding. A journey time of 10 minutes is realy the maximum (even this means that the bridesmaids, and perhaps the brides mum have to leave at least 30 minutes befor the service). Q. “Can the brides car also take the bridesmaids to the reception?” A. This is not usually practical. When we leave with the bride and groom for the journey to the reception, the guests typically like to follow on immediately. If we were also going to take the bridesmaids, they would have to wait alone at the church before we could return to get them. The bridesmaids need to be at the reception at about the same time as the bride and groom. Ask a guest to bring them. Q. “Do the bridal car(s) wait during the service?” A. We promise that our cars always wait during the service. The car and chauffeur wait outside to show the world that an important wedding is taking place. The chauffeur will direct late guests and be generally helpful. The Rolls-Royce will be there for photographs taken both by your photographer and your guests. We know of other companies who will book another wedding one hour after yours and will just drop you off at the church, immediately disappear, then hopefully be back just in time to hurry up your photographer as the car is due elsewhere. Q. “Can I see the car(s) before booking?” A. We are proud to show our cars off – but by appointment please. Be very wary of any company which is reluctant to invite you around to show you there cars. Q. “Can I have coloured ribbons on my car(s)?” A. White or ivory is our standard colour, but we will endeavour to provide any other colour that you ask for. Also, the silk flowers inside our cars can be made to match your bouquet. Q. “What happens if the car breaks down?” A. In 19 busy years our cars have never let us down and failed to get the bride to the church. In the most unlikely event of a problem we would find an alternative vehicle. Our cars are maintained regardless of expense and have proved totally reliable. In the last 23 years neither car has ever even failed an MOT test – who else could say that? Q. “What if the bride wants a Rolls-Royce from you and another car from a different company for the bridesmaids?” A. No problem – it happens a lot. If possible let us know so that we can cooperate fully with the other company. However, we cannot be responsible for their vehicle or the smooth running of their service. Q. “What makes your Rolls-Royces different from everyone else’s?” A. Our cars are only used for weddings. They have immaculate paintwork, the chrome gleams and the interiors are stunning. Both cars have been re-upholstered in recent years and the interiors look as good as new. They are maintained regardless of expense. Don’t assume that all of our competitor’s cars are as nice as ours! (come and inspect them). Q. “What happens if it rains?” A. It won’t! However, each car carries a large white umbrella – just in case. Q. "What Service do you offer if I am getting married and have the reception at the same venue - eg. a Historic Location or a posh Hotel" A. We offer the same service. We only do one wedding, per car, per day: so no discount can be offered. However, we will take the bride (and perhaps the bridesmaids also) to the wedding venue in time for photographs and the signing process prior to the ceremony; the car will wait and be available for photographs with the Bride, Groom, and guests afterwards. A small discount can sometimes be offered if the car is not required to wait during the ceremony (usually in the winter - when it is too cold to come out for more photographs). Q. “How can I get more information?” A. The contact page on this website has a form for you to ask a question or request more information. Alternatively, give us a call on the number below. We are happy to send you our brochure, price lists and a booking form with no obligation. Osborn Weddings - 29 Osborn Road, Fareham, Hampshire PO16 7DE contact@osbornweddings.co.uk |
